Reverse Phone Lookup – Can You Do It for Free?

Many people find themselves trying to find out where someone is located at some point in their lives. Reverse phone lookup is a way to make that happen quickly and easily over the internet. When you look up the term reverse phone lookup in your search engine, you will see that there is no shortage of websites and services that offer this for free in their advertising. Unfortunately, the majority of these reverse phone lookup services are pulling the wool over your eyes. Can you really do reverse phone lookups for free? Yes….and no.

So what actually happens when you click on these various services in the search engines? Usually it will take you to a website that will ask for some basic information. They will ask you for name, address, phone number and information such as this. When you put in the information that you know of the person that you are looking for, it will then take you to a screen that basically says for a fee they have what you are looking for. Technically, the reverse phone lookup is free. Actually getting the information is not. This is the case with the more than ten reverse phone lookup services I attempted to use.

While these services are not exactly free, you can get reverse phone lookup services free in another way. The easiest way is to simply use Google. If you have a phone number of someone, but you do not know who they are or where they live, then you can often find this information by punching the number into Google. Go to a Google search engine and put the number in. This will often generate the information you are looking for. Other search engines will sometimes work as well.

While this is not a one hundred percent solution to reverse phone lookup, it does cover information for those that are listed. Those people that are not listed are likely not going to be found in any reverse phone lookup service either. There are exceptions to this, as some of the paid reverse phone lookup services are worthwhile. The ones that are legit can be very helpful in finding information. Truthfully though, you are just as likely to find reverse phone lookup information on Google as you are anywhere else.

Trusting website directories and advertisements is a tough business these days. With all the spyware and malware that is out there, you have to be careful about where you search. Be very careful who you give your information to, or you may quickly find yourself loaded down with spam at best, and with a virus at worst. Free reverse phone lookup services are generally just ways to get you to sign up for a service. They let you see the most basic information and then tease you with the fact that they have the info you need. What they do not tell you is that the information is often way outdated, or someone else entirely. Many people out there have the same name and so on, so that information they have might just be someone else. Think twice before you pay them for this information.
